Soon after Johann Friedrich Böttger discovered "White Gold" back in 1709, the Vienna Porcelain Factory Augarten opened its gates in the year 1718.
Up until today, Vienna Porcelain is known across the borders. The fine lines and colours, the level of details and the excellent craftsmanship make for Vienna Porcelain to become desired and unqiue pieces of art.
Each individual piece, from raw materials to ready-made products, is crafted by hand with detail and care.
New Flagship Store in Vienna
The Porcelain Factory Augarten has opened its gates for clients and interested visitors in the heart of the city since 2011. Modern architecture and furniture of the new flagship store may appear to be in contrast to the products of the traditional factory, however manage to compliment each other.
Old and new skills are in harmony with each other. Subtle presentation skills enhance porcelain vases, lamps, models or a set of matching dishes. The clear-cut interior of the shop does not distract from its objects and thus emphasises the pristine beauty of the objects.
Exhibition and Museum
The Augarten Palace invites visitors to learn more about the factory and the porcelain museum during daily tours. Here, you can dig into the fascinating history of porcelain.
Porcelain Painting for Kids
New talents always abound at the Augarten Porcelain Factory: Children receive special attention here!
At the Augarten Palace as well as several other stores of the porcelain factory, regular events & workshops are held where kids can learn how to paint their own piece of porcelain. This is certainly an exciting experience for our youngest visitors!
